Welcome to the UAB Section of Gastrointestinal Surgery. This section falls within the Division of General Surgery of the Department of Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Surgeons within the section specialize in both routine and complex gastrointestinal surgical problems, including both benign and malignant conditions. Consultations are performed at The Kirklin Clinic and often involve collaborations with the divisions of Gastroenterology, Endoscopy and Radiology.
