Awards/Ranking & Recognition

The division of Neurosurgery is frequently recognized for outstanding performance and has been consistently ranked by US News and World Report as one of the outstanding programs in the nation. The Pediatric program was designated a top 15 program by USNWR in 2010. Many of our faculty members have been recognized by Best Doctors in America. The Neurosurgery service has also been consistently recognized for highest patient satisfaction within all of the clinical programs at UAB. In 2010 the UAB Neurosurgery residents finished second amongst all US residency programs in "Neurosurgery Jeopardy" - a game show style contest for residents conducted at the Congress of Neurologic Surgeons Meeting in San Francisco, California.
