“Chamber Music @ AEIVA” to feature free exhibition, concert April 30

See an exhibition of works by Michael Velliquette and hear a chamber music concert featuring music by Ravel and Glass at this new, free event.

Chamber Music @ AEIVA” will begin at 5 p.m. with a gallery viewing and refreshments. The concert will begin at 5:30 p.m. It will take place at the institute, 1221 10th Ave. South. It is free and open to the public.

Musicians from the UAB Department of Music will be joined by musicians from the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and University of Alabama to present a concert that connects music with the art in AEIVA’s current exhibit, “Michael Velliquette: Desire for Being.” Performers are Sarah Nordlund Dennis and Anne Donaldson, violins; Wendy Richman, viola; and Laura Usiskin, cello. The music of Maurice Ravel and Philip Glass will be on the program.
