The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved renaming the Division of Women’s Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the UAB School of Medicine to Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. The name change, approved during its meeting April 8, 2011, is to provide clarity to patients and referring physicians and is consistent with the naming of similar divisions within other departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
