UAB students now have the opportunity to learn more about social responsibility in global health, interprofessional collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork.

The Interprofessional Global Health Service Learning program merges multiple UAB disciplines in an effort to teach students and serve the community. Participating students will form teams that work with local non-profits to analyze problems and implement solutions.

More information will be available at a “Social Hour” event with free pizza at the School of Public Health, Room 407, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012. Courtney Pierce, a student in Vanderbilt University’s Pyramid Project, will Skype about her experiences with Vanderbilt’s version of IGHSL.
