The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved the conversion and renaming of the Dr. Thomas W. Jones Endowed Support Fund in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as an endowed professorship during its meeting on Nov. 2, 2012. Jones was the first admitted resident and first graduate of the School of Dentistry’s Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program.
