Study will look at testosterone levels in premature babies

UAB School of Nursing assistant professor June Cho, Ph.D., R.N. has been awarded a $407,875 R21 NIH Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Award from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Institute of Child Health and Human Development. The award will provide support for a two-year study entitled “Perinatal Testosterone in Infant Health, Mother-Infant Interaction and Development.” The study will exam the possible association between perinatal testosterone and infant health and growth in very-low-birth-weight preterm infants.
