These exhibitions are the pinnacle of achievement for those students accepted into the BFA program at UAB.

The UAB Juried Student Annual Exhibition will be judged this year by Hancock, an acclaimed contemporary artist, who also will give a free, public lecture Feb. 28.

“A Letter Edged in Black” will be on show Feb. 4-23, with a free closing reception Feb. 22, which will feature a live music installation.

Striking images of women braving breast cancer will be on display at UAB Jan. 7-31, 2013.

“The SCAR Project” and the “The Alabama Project” are two series of large-scale portraits depicting young women’s experiences with breast cancer.

The UAB Visual Arts Gallery will present a group exhibition from New Orleans-based artist collective The Front Aug. 24-Sept. 21, 2012.
