Thomas Birkner, Ph.D., will receive the Statistics in Epidemiology Young Investigator Award presented by the American Statistical Association during its Joint Statistical Meetings in Miami Aug. 2, 2011. Birkner, who recently earned his doctoral degree in the UAB School of Public Health Department of Biostatistics, will present his award-winning paper there.
The Young Investigator Award is available to graduate students in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or recent graduates from a master’s or doctoral program in these departments. The prize is $750 and a certificate.
