The UAB Gospel Choir has released “Legacy,” a compilation CD of the choir’s music selected from recordings over a 15-year period.
The CD, officially released Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, features selected music from the UAB Gospel Choir CDs “LIVE!,” “Lessons for Life,” “Gospel 101: GO DOMINATE!” and “Mirrors.”

The UAB Gospel Choir is a music performance class open to UAB students of all majors. One credit hour is earned for participating. The Choir has grown from 38 voices in 1995 to an average of 145. In 2008 their song “After You’ve Prayed About It” debuted at No. 23 on XM Radio’s Spirit Channel play list; two weeks later, it climbed to the No. 2 spot for six weeks. The Choir is a national and international ambassador for the university, receiving critical acclaim in newspapers, on television and online. Their international impact led to an invitation to London; they toured London and Birmingham, England, in spring 2011.
