CP Rehab program earns three-year recertification

  • November 28, 2011

UAB's cardiopulmonary rehab program has been reaccredited by a national peer-review association.

The Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program at UAB has been recertified for an additional three years by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the professional organization that oversees cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs nationally.

This is the only peer-reviewed accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by the AACVPR and other professional societies. Each program is reviewed by the AACVPR national certification committee and certification is awarded by its board of directors. UAB’s program has been continuously certified since certification was first launched in 1998.
