Ford leadership program hires seven UAB School of Business grads

The multiyear program, which provides experience in six finance roles, is designed to cultivate skills in team management, business development and financial analysis.

Ford Motor Credit Company, the global vehicle financing subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, has hired seven University of Alabama at Birmingham Collat School of Business graduates for the Ford Credit Leadership Development Program (FCLDP). The multiyear program, which provides experience in six finance roles, is designed to cultivate skills in team management, business development and financial analysis.

FCLDP has worked with the UAB School of Business career services team since 2012 and placed nine UAB students in the program.

“I have been very impressed with the students’ achievements in the classroom and their work experience,” said Chris Parish, center operations manager at the Ford Credit Nashville Business Center. “We look forward to the contributions of the individuals who have joined Ford Credit and those who may become part of our team in the future.”

The UAB graduates and their majors, are:

  • Lauren Beauchamp, Management
  • Charles (Freddie) Kummer, Finance
  • Victoria McCombs, Management, Human Resources
  • Joshua Powell, Marketing
  • Shelby Smith, Management
  • Megan Stone, Management, Human Resources
  • Camille Wamsley, Accounting
The graduates, who begin FCLDP in July, will train in one of four business centers from across the United States: Colorado Springs, Colo.; Greenville, S.C.; Nashville, Tenn.; or Tampa, Fla. Beauchamp, McCombs and Stone will train in South Carolina; Kummer, Powell and Smith in Florida; and Wamsley in Colorado. After training, the employees receive their permanent assignments to one of the company’s locations throughout the country.
