Lynda Wilson, Ph.D., professor and assistant dean for International Affairs in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing will present “Preparing Students for Interprofessional Work in Global Villages: The Role of Global Competencies” from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Room 507 in the Ryals School of Public Health. The event is sponsored by the Sparkman Center for Global Health.
Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
Wilson is the deputy director of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Center on International Nursing. She is fluent in Spanish and has a special interest in global health and Latino immigrant health. Her previous research has also focused on high-risk preterm infants and families in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Wilson is currently involved in projects in Honduras and in Zambia and is the co-director of the Network of Child Health Nurses, a network involving nurses from Latin America.
