Bridge Da Gap, Rebuilding the Foundation of our Youth will feature presentations on responsibility, anger management, self-esteem, alcohol and drug abuse and offer a guide to getting an education. It's a project of Alabama native and multi-platinum record producer Kevin "Chao" Cates, sponsored by the School of Medicine Office of Diversity & Multicultural Affairs, the Student National Medical Association and the Birmingham YMCA. The program features seminars, mentoring, tours of college campuses and a performance by Cates in the UAB Campus Recreation Center.
