Color Run to benefit UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center

5K Color Run hosted by Oak Mountain High School students to raise money for cancer research at UAB.

color runThe Oak Mountain High School Student Government Association is hosting the second annual Color Run at Oak Mountain State Park, with proceeds to benefit cancer research in the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. The run, held in memory of Donald R. Ellison and Susan A. Power, will be held 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 14; the 5K race will start at 9 a.m. Participants will be doused with colorful nontoxic, washable paint during the run.

For participants who preregister, shirts will be provided at registration. Participants who register on the day of the race may bring their own white shirts. Participants 18 and younger must have parents sign a waiver — available on the race website.

For spectators, the park entrance fee is $3 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-11 and seniors ages 62 and older.
