On Tuesday, Oct. 20, the Young Supporters Board of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center will launch Dine for a Cure, a fundraising effort in which local restaurants will partner with the YSB to raise money for cancer research at UAB.
The inaugural Dine for a Cure restaurant is Slice, located in Birmingham’s Lakeview District at 725 29th Street S., Birmingham, AL 35233. All day Oct. 20, Slice will donate 10 percent of each ticket, including carry-out, to the Cancer Center.
For the Cancer Center to receive the donation at this inaugural event, patrons must show a voucher that can be attained at the restaurant.
Dine for a Cure will extend to other restaurants with an event at Moe’s Original BBQ on Nov. 16. Future participants include MELT and Babalu.
