New certification expands business know-how for nonprofit professionals and students

Nonprofit leaders can earn a certificate in nonprofit leadership at UAB.

nonprofitProfessionals and students can advance their knowledge and understanding of nonprofit organization and leadership through the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s new Undergraduate Certificate in Interprofessional Nonprofit Leadership.

The collaborative program through the UAB Collat School of Business, College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, and School of Public Health looks to improve the understanding of how nonprofit organization leadership can use the latest management and strategic best practices to benefit organizational stakeholders.    

The certificate program emphasizes the application of best practices in leadership, management and organization to serve those currently working in nonprofit-related fields and to prepare individuals with the interprofessional perspective and skills need to succeed in nonprofit careers.

To earn the certificate, students will take two management courses alongside two courses within other disciplines based on their career objectives.

Entry requirements for the Undergraduate Certificate in Interprofessional Nonprofit Leadership will be the same as the requirements to be accepted as a nondegree-seeking student at UAB.
