Judd is a nutritional epidemiologist who specializes in reducing health disparities in chronic disease. Her research focuses on the role diet plays in racial disparities in the risk of hypertension, kidney disease, and stroke. She is able to talk about why different racial populations have different health outcomes based on their diets and other factors.

She is the nutrition team leader for the REGARDS study, a federally-funded study that examines the reasons for geographic and racial differences in stroke.
