The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees appointed Navin C. Nanda, M.D., professor of Medicine and director of the Echocardiography Laboratory, distinguished professor during its June 17, 2011, meeting. Nanda, a member of the UAB faculty since 1984, also is a senior scientist in the centers for Health Promotion, Aging, Minority Health Behavior and Cardiovascular Biology.
