David Allison, Ph.D., professor and associate dean in the School of Public Health, was named the 2011 UAB Distinguished Faculty Lecturer, the highest award presented by the Academic Medical Center to its faculty.
The award recognizes faculty who have advanced the frontiers of science or otherwise made a significant contribution to the health of people or have made an outstanding contribution to the Academic Health Center through education, research or public service. Allison will deliver the Distinguished Faculty Lecture at 4 p.m. Oct. 10, 2011 in UAB's Alys Stephens Center Sirote Theater.
