The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees named Thomas C. Jannett, Ph.D., professor emeritus of electrical engineering in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Engineering during its meeting on Sept. 13, 2013. Jannett earned his bachelor and master’s degrees in engineering from UAB and joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1984. He received the UAB President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1995.
