Moneyham receives Alumni Legacy Leader Award

School of Nursing professor and senior associate dean for academic affairs honored by alma mater.

Moneyham, Ph.D., professor and senior associate dean for academic affairs in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing, will receive the Alumni Legacy Leader Award from Indiana University. Recipients were chosen from a group of alumni and nominated by their peers; 100 individuals will receive this distinguished award June 21 during the school’s 100th Anniversary Celebration Weekend.

Moneyham earned her doctorate in nursing from Indiana University.

Moneyham’s nursing expertise is in psychiatric/mental health and community health nursing. During the course of her career her research focus has evolved from the effects of stress and coping on health outcomes of women to the adaptational outcomes of women with HIV. Moneyham has an established program of funded research that spans 15 years and is focused on developing and testing of interventions supportive of women with HIV.
