top sales universityUAB’s Collat School of Business’ Center for Sales Leadership has been named a “Top University for Professional Sales Education” by the Sales Education Foundation in its 2017 annual magazine.

The Collat School of Business is one of only four schools globally with three SEF-trained instructors.

The Center for Sales Leadership fosters the study of professional selling through the Professional Sales Certificate Program, which provides advanced sales training and allows students to enhance their interpersonal communication skills in a business environment and distinguish themselves as committed professionals in sales and customer service. Nearly 50 students are enrolled in the program.

“We are excited to see the growth of our program,” said Scott Watson, director of the Center for Sales Leadership. “The market needs what we offer — business-to-business sales professionals trained by a staff with years of real-world sales leadership experience.”

Recent research suggests 60 percent of all business majors and 88 percent of all marketing majors begin their professional careers in a sales-related role, according to the Sales Education Foundation.
