Learn about cancer and the Affordable Care Act

Powell will provide insight on the types of health care services that will be available under the new policy for cancer patients and survivors.

The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center will offer a free interactive presentation about the Affordable Care Act’s effects on cancer patients 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in The Kirklin Clinic’s 4th floor conference room, 2000 6th Ave. South. M. Paige Powell, Ph.D., associate professor in the UAB School of Health Professions and an expert on health care policy, will present “The Affordable Care Act:  What it Will Mean to People Living with Cancer.” Powell will provide insight on the types of health care services that will be available under the new policy for cancer patients and survivors.
