UAB Health System wins several Internet awards

UAB Health System inducted into the Healthcare Intranet Conference's Hall of Fame, among other honors at event.

The UAB Health System earned multiple honors during the 15th annual Healthcare Internet Conference, including a place in its Hall of Fame.

The system’s ONE Intranet, Online News for Employees, won eHealthcare Leadership Awards’ platinum award for best intranet. The UAB Women & Infants Center campaign earned a silver award for best integrated marketing campaign.

Leaders from the system were honored for their work developing the Estrada Content Management System, one of the first health-care content-management systems, which was inducted into the Healthcare Internet Hall of Fame.

“This is really great news and reflects not only hard work, but forward thinking on the part of our marketing department,” said UAB Health System CEO Will Ferniany, Ph.D.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program started 12 years ago by eHealthcare Strategy and Trends to exclusively recognize outstanding websites of health-care organizations, online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical equipment firms, suppliers and business improvement initiatives.
