Breast cancer could not keep UAB professor from running marathons in 50 states

Breast cancer survivor Tammy Than underwent a double mastectomy last spring. Two months later she ran a marathon in Alaska. "I sent pictures to people and I said, 'First marathon without the girls,'" said Than, a professor at University of Alabama Birmingham's School of Optometry.
