Rocks on Mars named for Alabama locations in honor of late UAB professor

Tom Wdowiak is a late physics professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Scientists at NASA have decided to honor his memory by naming a ridge on Mars after him. The team has also named rocks in the ridge after places in Alabama that were of interest to Wdowiak.
