UAB med school to host In the Heat of the Night actress

Actress and theater director Tonea Stewart will speak in honor of Black History Month.

Stewart-ToneaVeteran actress Tonea Stewart will appear in “An Evening with Dr. Tonea Stewart,” a show in honor of Black History Month presented by the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs in the School of Medicine and the Undergraduate Student Diversity Programs. The show is at 7 p.m. Feb. 22, 2012, in the Carver Theatre/Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, 1631 Fourth Ave. North.

Stewart is well known to TV audiences as “Aunt Etta Kibbe” in In the Heat of the Night. Her acting credits also include A Time to Kill, Mississippi Burning and the Rosa Parks Story. Guest starring television roles include episodes of Touched by an Angel, Walker, Texas Ranger, ER and Matlock.
