UAB to host discussion on Trayvon Martin issue

A campuswide forum on the issues surrounding the Trayvon Martin case will be held April 17.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham African American Studies program will host a campuswide discussion on the news and protests surrounding the Trayvon Martin shooting at 7 p.m. April 17, 2012. The panel will include Valerie Hicks-Powe, local attorney and radio talk show host; Michael Brooks, Ph.D., associate professor of human studies in the UAB School of Education and director of the Black Male Excellence Network; Horace Huntley, Ph.D., historian and former UAB history professor; Theodore Foster, African-American Studies instructor; Ronda Robinson, news anchor; and William Anderson, student activist.
