Prince earned his doctorate at UAB.

Jolly served as the director of Freshman English and Developmental Studies for more than 30 years.

Brouwer previously served as chair of the department and dean of the School of Arts and Humanities.

Michalek also earned her doctorate at UAB.

Safford is also the Assistant Dean for Continuing Medical Education.

Straughn first joined UAB in 2000.

Bourge was the inaugural holder of the former professorship.

She was presented the award during the 62nd Annual Scientific Session of the American College of Cardiology in San Francisco, Calif., in March.

Proceeds from the book will be donated to the Selma-Dallas County Public Library.
