Interim head for African-American studies named

george_munchus_2009_1_siteGeorge Munchus, Ph.D., has been named interim director of UAB’s African-American Studies program, which is part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Munchus is a professor of management and director of business service-learning in the School of Business.

African-American Studies is a shared program with The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The interdisciplinary, liberal arts degree program integrates the humanities, social and behavioral sciences and health-related fields. The program offers both a bachelor's degree and a minor.
