James McClintock, Ph.D., UAB Endowed Professor of Polar and Marine Biology, has been selected chair-elect for the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) Division of Invertebrate Zoology (DIZ).
The DIZ hosts approximately 500 active members in a society with a total membership of about 2,000. The society is dedicated to promoting the pursuit and public dissemination of important information relating to biology; research is presented in numerous symposia during the SICB annual meeting. McClintock’s three-year term will begin in January 2012.
