Longtime Birmingham ENT and allergy specialist joins UAB faculty

Richard_Waguespack-1Richard W. Waguespack, M.D., has joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Division of Otolaryngology faculty as a clinical professor of surgery. Waguespack has been in private practice in Birmingham for more than three decades prior to coming to UAB.

Waguespack has served in a number of education and leadership roles. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and served as a senior examiner for the Board from 2008 until 2012. Additionally, Waguespack is also serving as president-elect of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and he will be president for the 2013-2014 academic year.

At UAB, Waguespack will see both medical and surgical pediatric and adult patients in general otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), as well as those with allergy, nasal and sinus disorders. His clinical interests also include dizziness and hearing loss. He welcomes new patients and those from his former private practice.
