University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing associate professor Rita A. Jablonski, Ph.D., has been named Chair-Elect of the Gerontological Society of America’s Health Sciences Committee. The Gerontological Society of America is the nation’s largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to the field of aging. An expert in both gerontology and oral health, Jablonsky is conducting a study examining ways to improve the delivery of mouth care to persons with dementia residing in nursing homes.
