The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees named Louise T. Chow, Ph.D., professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, as holder of the Anderson Family Chair in Medical Education, Research and Patient Care in the School of Medicine during its meeting on Sept. 13, 2013. Chow joined the UAB faculty in 1993 and was elected to membership in the National Academy of Sciences as a foreign associate in 2012.
