The Marshall scholarship is a distinguished award given to selected American students, allowing the recipient to attend a university in the United Kingdom for graduate study.

Webb, who is also a member of the UAB Honors College’s Global and Community Leadership Honors Program, will travel to Atlanta, Georgia November 5-6 to interview for the award. If selected, she will be pursuing two masters’ degrees at the University of Sussex, one in Gender, Violence and Conflict Studies and another in Human Rights

“We’re so proud of Erica’s many accomplishments,” said Ashley Floyd Kuntz, Ph.D., director of national and international fellowships and scholarships at UAB. “She is the type of leader who turns good ideas into tangible initiatives.”

Webb was also a finalist for the Truman Scholarship this spring and she spent the summer in Berlin on a Humanity in Action Fellowship.
