Collat School of Business to help CPAs earn continuing education credits

cpa day 2The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Collat School of Business is offering two daylong seminars Friday, Aug. 15, and Friday, Sept. 12, at The Club to help working professionals stay current on accounting and auditing changes. CPAs who complete the seminars will be able to earn up to 16 hours of Continuing Professional Education credits.

The first session will cover subjects including malpractice litigation, fraud examination and auditing operating systems. The second session will feature topics such as forensic auditing, fraud risk assessment and information technology risk assessment. Individuals who register by Aug. 1 for the Aug. 14 session or Aug. 29 for the Sept. 12 session can attend either for $250, or for a discounted rate of $200 for those in groups of three or more. The fee covers the sessions and materials, as well as continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments.
