leadership uabThe University of Alabama at Birmingham has announced its 2015 Leadership UAB class.

These dynamic business and community leaders were nominated by leaders in their respective industries and were selected because of their leadership abilities and community-mindedness. This year’s class represents a cross-section of Birmingham’s corporate, civic and volunteer organizations.

At events throughout the year, members will learn about the exciting research, medical, educational and entrepreneurial activities taking place at UAB. Through their participation in Leadership UAB, members also will better understand UAB’s role in the community and will become important ambassadors for and partners of the university. To date, more than 200 individuals have completed the program.

“We are so fortunate to have young professionals, who are the future leaders in Birmingham and Alabama, involved with Leadership UAB,” said ShirleySalloway Kahn, UAB senior vice president of Development, Alumni and External Relations. “As participants meet with leaders on campus and gain a better understanding about all aspects of UAB’s mission and role in the community, they learn how they can play an important part in our continued growth and development.
