Two University Honors Program students accepted into Teach for America program

UAB 's University Honors Program students Travis Lilley and Kristin Olson, both from Huntsville, Ala., have been accepted into the Teach for America program. Teach for America is a highly competitive, national corps of recent college graduates and professionals who commit two years to teaching to help expand educational opportunities in under-served urban and rural public schools.

Lilley is a senior in the UAB College of Arts and Sciences pursuing a major in psychology and a minor in mathematics. He will be teaching high-school science in Houston, Texas.

Olson is a senior in the UAB College of Arts and Sciences pursuing a major in biology and chemistry and a minor in Spanish. She will be teaching high-school math in the Greensboro, Ala., area.
