The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry will hold its Doctoral Convocation and Hooding Ceremony for graduating students May 16 at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center.
The convocation will honor 47 graduates, 12 residents, and two master’s and two Ph.D.’s of vision science in the class of 2014.
Convocation speaker will be UAB School of Optometry Class of 1991 alumna Lynn S. Hammonds, O.D. Hammonds is a former president of the Alabama Board of Optometry and the Alabama Optometric Association, and has been in practice in Hoover, Alabama, since 1992.
The dean and faculty will host a reception for the graduates and guests immediately after the ceremony.
