UAB Public Relations student group named chapter of the year

The University of Alabama Birmingham chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama/Public Relations Student Society of America won Chapter of the Year honors at the Public Relations Council of Alabama annual conference on April 3.

In addition, students received 20 Medallion Awards, the highest award given by the Public Relations Council of Alabama, 12 Awards of Excellence and six Awards of Merit.

PRCA/PRSSA is a student based organization that helps public relations students prepare for the college to professional transition.

UAB PRCA/PRSSA's student public relations firm, Creative Relations, provides public relations services to select non-profit organizations in the Birmingham area. Clients receive quality, hands-on services from third and fourth semester public relations students at UAB.

Medallion Award Winners:

    Kat Best, Balli Bigham, Victoria Cruz, Sarah Curtis, Daniella del Castillo, Sarah Goodman, Sarah Godbee, Justin Jones, Jordan Lessley, Tina Maenza, McKenzie Runager and Kelsey Stracener.

Excellence Award Winners:

    Danella del Castillo, Fanta Diabate, Sarah Godbe, Sarah Goodman, Courtney Haynes, Erica Jackson, Alexandra Krall, Jacob Pevsner, and Kelsey Stracener.

Merit Award Winners:

    Daniella del Castillo, Tessa Harvill, Justin Jones, Alexandra Krall, and McKenzie Runager.

 

The organization also received Merit and Medallion Awards for its work as a creative agency.
