BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Mary Beth Briscoe, M.B.A., C.P.A., chief financial officer of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital has been appointed chair of the board of directors for the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mary Beth Briscoe, M.B.A., C.P.A., chief financial officer of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital has been appointed chair of the board of directors for the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

HFMA is the nation’s leading organization for more than 35,000 health care financial management professionals.

Briscoe, a fellow of HFMA and the American College of Healthcare Executives, chose “making a difference” as a theme for her term. She is challenging the association’s members and volunteers to ignore complacency and become involved and engaged in their organizations, professions and communities. Her HFMA chair term ends in June.

Briscoe, of Vestavia Hills, earned her M.B.A. from UAB. She has been a HFMA member since 1984.
