Biography
Dr. Britt received the BSN degree from the Medical College of Georgia, the MSN
and DSN degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. At the MSN level,
she completed a Clinical Specialty in Maternal-Infant Nursing. Her DSN was in
Maternal-Infant Nursing and Consultation. Currently she is the Course Manager
for NUR 364 Nursing of Childbearing Families and Co-Course Manager for NUR 365
Maternal-Newborn and Women's Health Nursing & 366L Maternal-Newborn and Women's
Health Nursing Practicum. She has taught maternal -infant nursing in diploma and
ADN programs for 6 years. Also, she taught at the UASON for 10 years. Dr. Britt
worked as a nurse in a private periodontal dental practice for 20 years in a
variety of clinical roles prior to returning to the educator role in 2006.
Research/Clinical Interest
Research and clinical interest focus on effectiveness of teaching behaviors on
motivation of nursing students, the relationship between oral care and total
body health and the effect of addictive behavior patterns on family
interactions.
