eichelberger 300dpi smallThe American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) recently announced the second class of nursing deans who have successfully completed the AACN-Wharton Executive Leadership Program. Launched in 2012 in collaboration with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, this world-class enrichment experience is designed exclusively for top academic leaders in schools of nursing.

The UAB School of Nursing is proud to announce that alumna Lisa Eichelberger, DSN, RN, is among this distinguished list of participants. Dr. Eichelberger received her BSN, MSN and DSN from UAB, and has been selected to participate in the 2013 AACN-Wharton program. Dr. Eichelberger currently serves as Dean at the Clayton State University School of Nursing.

The American Academy of Nursing has selected 172 nurse leaders for induction as Fellows during the Academy’s 40th annual meeting on October 19, 2013, in Washington, DC.

The Academy is composed of more than 2,000 nurse leaders in education, management, practice, policy, and research. The Academy Fellows include hospital and government administrators, college deans, and renowned scientific researchers. With this new class, Fellows will represent all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 19 countries.

The UAB School of Nursing is proud to announce two DSN alumni who will be inducted as Fellows in October. James C. Pace is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Clinical Associate Professor at New York University College of Nursing. Wipada Kunaviktikul is Dean and Professor at Chiang Mai University in Thailand. She also serves as the Director of the Nursing Policy and Outcomes Center.
