Biography
Dr. Marti Rice has been at the UASON since 1997 and teaches research methods, statistics, and child health theories and concepts. She is project faculty in the Leadership Education in Child Health Nursing (LECHN) program, a grant funded by the Maternal Child Health Bureau (DHHS). She is also a Co-Investigator on a Challenge Grant funded by the Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health, Distance-Based Education for International Study Coordinators. Her program of research focuses on biobehavioral research on anger, stress and self-concept and interventions that target psychological, physiological, behavioral and health outcomes (the PASS program) in children. In addition, she is also involved in the study of the effects of an educational program on the knowledge and research capacity building of international study coordinators. Dr. Rice is active in service and currently serves as the President of the Southern Nursing Research Society and Member of the Steering Committee of the Council for the National Advancement of Nursing Science.

Research/Clinical Interest
