UAB School of Nursing Receives 10 Year Maximum Accreditation from CCNE for Baccalaureate and Master's Programs
The UAB School of Nursing is accreditated by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In 2010, the UAB School of Nursing received the 10 year, maximum accreditation from CCNE for its Baccalaureate and Master’s programs and 5 year, maximum accreditation for its Joint Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. This extends accreditation for the Baccalaureate and Master's programs through June 2020 and Joint DNP program through October 2015. CCNE does not accredit PhD programs; however, the PhD program is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
The UAB School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABN). The school has program approval from the Pediatric Certification Board (PCNB) for: 1) Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and 2) Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Additionally, the school is in compliance with the National Certification Corporation for: 1) Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and 2) Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner Option.
