The 2006 School of Nursing Gala

The School of Nursing’s Board of Visitors delighted guests with the fun-filled “Bivouac in the Outback,” the 2006 Make*Another*Scholarship*Happen event. Since 1992 the Board of Visitors has hosted 11 galas to raise funds for endowed scholarships for deserving nursing students. The proceeds from this year’s gala totaled more than $58,000.

M*A*S*H 2006 Gala Chairs Joie Jones, Donna Reddinger, and Jean Tomlinson used bamboo and decorative grasses to create an Australian setting at Patchwork Farm, which is owned by Pat and George Blinn.  Board of Visitors Chair Karle Falkenburg and Co-chair Elizabeth Wallace greeted the almost 300 people who braved the evening’s rainy weather to support the School of Nursing. Ed’s Pet World provided animals to enhance the “Land Down Under” ambience, and Outback Steakhouse donated steak dinners for the event.
