More than 500 volunteers from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, the UAB School of Nursing, Cahaba Valley Health Care, and other local dentists, health agencies and companies cared for more than 350 people today as part of the first UAB Dentistry Cares Community Day.

YBCSN event teaches the whole family coping strategies
Saturday, April 5, 2014 young breast cancer survivors, their spouses, and children gathered at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing to attend the second annual Young Breast Cancer Survivors Network (YBCSN) Workshop.
The workshop was specially designed to help improve the quality of life for young breast cancer survivors and their loved ones through education, personal support and networking.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing is home to a one-of-its-kind, interactive exhibit of 50 famous Florence Nightingale letters. School of Nursing Dean Doreen C. Harper, Ph.D., analyzed the components of these letters, which highlight Nightingale’s visionary leadership for global health and nursing within the historical context of Great Britain’s colonization of India.

UAB School of Nursing reopens health clinic at The Foundry
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing has acquired the health clinic at The Foundry Rescue Mission and Recovery Center in Bessemer and began seeing patients – both residents of The Foundry and members of the community in need of health care – July 1, 2013.
