AACN Student Policy SummitNGSA President Jeremy Jordan represented the UAB SON at the 2014 American Association of Colleges of Nursing's Student Policy Summit. The Summit is designed to bring baccalaureate and graduate nursing student ambassadors, along with Dean's of member schools to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of Congress to provide perspective on the current state of nursing in our country. The Summit also featured federal leaders, researchers, and experts who impact nursing and healthcare policy on a daily basis. As a result of the Summit, attendees gained an understanding of the role the federal government plays in supporting nursing policy and how this impacts students, educators, and practicing nurses.
A Night Out on the Town
|The NGSA sponsored their first social event, a “Night Out on the Town” on November 13 and 20, 2013 during an onsite visit to the School of Nursing. This two night event, held at Jim ’N Nick’s BBQ at 5 Points South, offered the graduate students, enrolled in distance accessible programs, an opportunity to meet and network with fellow classmates and School of Nursing faculty members.
