Overview
The original purpose of this HRSA award was to train culturally competent advanced practice nurses as dual Adult/Gerontological NPs.  The goals have expanded to include the development of two 3 semester hour gerontology courses to offer to ANPs, ACNPs and FNPs in the DNP program.  The program is committed to integrating issues of health disparities and cultural competence into all Dual ANP/GNP courses and practica and to recruiting, enrolling and retaining nurses from minority or disadvantaged backgrounds or from rural and medically underserved counties.
